Metro Remedial

Our approach focused on rebuilding the website on a cleaner, more flexible and more future-ready foundation while maintaining the existing design style.

The original website was built on an older theme and page builder setup, which made future updates, compatibility and maintenance more difficult. By migrating the site to Astra, Elementor and a custom theme structure, we created a more modern WordPress environment that is easier to manage and better suited to current website standards.

We also set up a new SQL database as part of the rebuild process, allowing the website to be migrated into a cleaner environment and structured properly for ongoing use. This helped support a more stable setup for content, pages, projects and future updates.

From a development perspective, one of the key improvements was coding the projects section as a custom post type. This gave Metro Remedial a dedicated backend area to manage project content, instead of relying on static page sections. Projects can now be added, edited and displayed more efficiently across the website, making the portfolio easier to maintain as new work is completed.

We also implemented a custom coded scroll carousel and subtle animations to improve movement and engagement throughout the site without making the experience feel distracting or overly complicated.

The finished website gives Metro Remedial a more stable, modern and future-ready online platform. While the original design direction was retained, the website was rebuilt on a stronger technical foundation that is easier to manage, update and expand.

By moving away from the older Citta and WPBakery setup and rebuilding with Astra, Elementor and custom theme development, the website is now better positioned for ongoing maintenance, modern plugin support, improved security and compatibility with newer PHP versions.

The custom project post type also makes the website more scalable, allowing Metro Remedial to manage project content through the backend and display it consistently across the site. Combined with a new SQL database setup, subtle animations, responsive layouts and a custom coded scroll carousel, the result is a website that feels more reliable, polished and easier to maintain.

The final result is not a full redesign, but a careful technical rebuild and migration that preserves the existing visual identity while giving the business a stronger, more secure and more flexible website foundation.
